Plus it works super-fast, which is really the key to my heart.
We’ve just installed one set so far on our house, but already I can see what a difference they make.We have a total of 8 shuttered windows on our house, so doing the rest of them won’t be a huge project and we should be able to show you the whole before and after fairly soon!

For now though, let’s focus on the one set on the windows by the deck.We recently remodeled and stained our deck. You can read all about that and see the full before and after.

.. Here’s our deck with the old green shutters. We still have a bit of work to do on that area but it really does look a million times better back there..

The problem with these shutters is that they’re built right into the siding so they look really really fake.
They look OK from a distance, but they really bugged us.I found myself with 2 giant bowls of perfectly cut cantaloupe chunks and no one to eat them, so I thought I might as well play around with it instead of just composting it in the creek right away.
Instead of standing over a stove for an hour, which I didn’t have time to do, I decided to just toss everything into the crock pot and see if it would work.I was pretty sure it wouldn’t because of the fact that the crock pot needs to stay closed so you don’t get the evaporation and the thickening that you would get on the stove, but clearly it did!
I wouldn’t be writing this whole post just to tell you that it didn’t work because I don’t have time for that either!.So here’s how it’s done!.
